Frequently asked questions

Rocking Up X-Mas is an ANBI-certified Dutch foundation that surprises families and lonely older people living in poverty every year with a luxury Christmas hamper, including a three-course dinner and gifts for the children. In 2026 that is 1,750 families. We are active in 9 locations across the Netherlands.

Unfortunately not. Families and households can only be referred by organisations, such as the Food Bank, the Centre for Youth and Family or clothing banks.

We work with organisations such as the Food Bank, the Centre for Youth and Family and clothing banks. Ask social organisations in your area whether they can refer you.

No. The hampers go to families referred by professional organisations and are delivered in person. Collecting a hamper is not possible.

Yes, you can! As a location manager you get a RUX coach who helps you set up your location step by step. A workshop and presentation afternoon in June are part of your start. You can sign up to start your own location (the form is in Dutch).

Always! Check the location page near you for the contact details of the location manager (in Dutch).

Of course! You can donate online on our donation page, or by bank transfer to NL60 RABO 0158 9330 87 in the name of Stichting Rocking Up X-Mas. We are a foundation with ANBI status. Most of your donation goes directly to the Christmas hampers. You can read how we cover our costs in the annual reports on our ANBI page (in Dutch).

Rocking Up X-Mas is an ANBI recognised by the Dutch Tax Administration. Our details are public on the ANBI page (in Dutch). Volunteers put the hampers together and deliver them in person, and families are referred by organisations such as the Food Bank and the Centre for Youth and Family.

The three-course menu for one family costs about €75: an evening full of warmth, togetherness and delicious food. A family receives all the ingredients and the recipe for a luxury Christmas dinner, created by a chef, halal and alcohol free as standard, with a full vegetarian alternative always included. With a donation of €75 you make this menu possible for one family. You can donate on the donation page.

Besides the dinner, the hamper also contains breakfast. Those costs come on top of the menu of about €75 per family, so a complete hamper costs more than the menu alone. A donation, big or small, helps to make the breakfast possible too.

Yes. With €15 you make a child happy with a gift under the tree. The gifts for the children are not included in the €75 menu, so this comes on top. You choose a one-off €15, €25, €50 or €75, or enter your own amount from €5. Giving monthly is also possible, from €5. You can donate on the donation page.

Your donation makes Christmas hampers possible for families and lonely older people living in poverty. When you donate you choose a location or let your donation be distributed where it is needed most.

In certain cases, yes. For regular gifts a threshold of 1% of your threshold income applies (minimum €60) and a maximum of 10%. This applies to Dutch income tax.

We are an ANBI recognised by the Dutch Tax Administration. On our ANBI transparency page (in Dutch) you will find our RSIN, objectives, remuneration policy, bank details and the official documents such as our annual report and policy plan.
